My name is Taiwan La’Rue, founder of Aura Arcade, a creative photography, cinematography, and graphic design brand built on the belief that every moment has a story worth telling. I grew up in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania, a small but tough river town just outside of Pittsburgh where life isn’t always easy and opportunities aren’t always handed to you. It’s a place shaped by tight-knit community bonds, but also real challenges where resilience, adaptability, and determination are part of everyday life. Growing up in that environment played a major role in shaping how I see the world and how I tell stories through my lens. My journey behind the camera began in 2023 when someone gifted me a camera after telling me they believed I had a natural eye for capturing emotion and unforgettable moments. Around that same time, I was coaching youth football with the Sto-Rox Little Vikings, where I helped guide and develop young athletes both on and off the field. That season became a defining moment as we pushed through competition and went on to win the 2023 championship, an experience that taught me leadership, discipline, and the importance of consistency and belief in a group of young athletes. My first images were captured on those same football fields, documenting the passion, grit, and energy of the game, which became the foundation of my creative direction. What started with sports photography quickly evolved into a full creative pursuit that led me into weddings, school portraits, street photography, music videos, events, and cinematic productions. A graduate of Sto-Rox High School, Garden City Community College in Kansas, and Lackawanna College in Scranton, I bring both lived experience and formal discipline into every project I take on.
Beyond Aura Arcade, I am also the founder of 1WayOut. 1WayOut didn’t start as a brand, it started as a message. It was created as a mindset and a reminder to push past environments, limitations, and expectations that try to define your future. Over time, that message evolved into something tangible. I began selling clothing under the name, turning the belief into something people could wear and represent. As the brand grew, so did its impact, and 1WayOut expanded into hosting community events that bring people together through culture, competition, and unity. Today, we use those events as a way to give back, create opportunities for the youth, and strengthen the same community that shaped me. One of those events is the annual 1WayOut Classic in McKees Rocks, a community driven experience that highlights local talent, builds connection, and gives back to families and youth in the area.
Through photography, cinematography, and graphic design, my mission is to create powerful visuals that preserve memories, tell authentic stories, and inspire others through art. Whether I’m capturing a once-in-a-lifetime moment, building a brand identity, or producing cinematic content, my goal is to leave a lasting impact through every frame, every design, and every story I help bring to life.
